Your music server on your iPhone, Apple Watch, CarPlay

A native client for Navidrome, LMS, Ampache, gonic and anything else that speaks the Subsonic API. You run the server. SubSonify puts it on the phone, in the car and on your wrist.

What’s new

Every App Store version since launch.

1.4.1

Faster and calmer on big libraries.

  • Home stays smooth while the library syncs, on libraries of any size
  • A full sync of a large library finishes in about a minute on a healthy server, and waits patiently for a slow one
  • Original Subsonic servers sync the whole library
  • Songs start faster while a sync is running

What it does

Nothing on this page is a roadmap. Everything here is in the app today.

Offline first

Your library is mirrored on the phone, so browsing is instant and works with no signal at all. The network refreshes the mirror quietly behind you. There is no "offline mode" to switch on.

Downloads that stay

Keep albums, playlists or single songs on the device. They survive reboots, dead tunnels and bad Wi-Fi, and they keep playing when your server is unreachable.

Automatic downloads

Point it at your Liked Songs or any playlist and it keeps them on the device from then on. Star something new and it downloads on its own.

CarPlay

Browse, search and play from the car screen, with artwork, a real Now Playing view, shuffle, repeat and the queue.

Apple Watch

A watch app that plays on its own. Stream over Wi-Fi or LTE, or play what you downloaded to the watch, with the phone left at home.

Siri & Shortcuts

Ask for an album, an artist or a playlist without unlocking the phone, and build the rest into your own Shortcuts.

Internet radio

If your server has stations configured, they show up and play. Hidden entirely when it does not.

Crossfade & quality

Adjustable crossfade between tracks, and separate streaming quality for Wi-Fi and cellular. FLAC at home, transcoded on the train.

Getting it

SubSonify is on the App Store. It needs iOS 26 or newer.

What we need tested

Large libraries, servers that are not Navidrome, and whether the daily limit sits in a sensible place. The three things we can't test well ourselves.

Something broken?

The support page covers the questions that come up most, and how to report the ones it does not.
